Draw-wire encoder
Draw-wire encoder or Draw-wire sensors are used to detect the position or path length of measurement objects such as machine parts in industrial applications. The rotary encoder integrated in the draw-wire encoder measures the length of the pulled-out wire. This allows the path length and position of the cable end to be recorded in relation to the zero point. Depending on the version of the rotary encoder used, the measurement signal is a pulse, resistance value or analogue signal.
